12 Day Kidepo Valley and Jinja Adventure

Day 1: Arrive in Uganda, the Pearl of Africa – Transfer to your Hotel

On your arrival, The Great Trekkers Safaris representative will welcome you to Uganda at Entebbe airport and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe. Enjoy the breeze from Lake Victoria – 2nd largest lake in the world. Meal plan – Bed and Breakfast

Day 2:  Rhino Tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Have an early breakfast and depart for Murchison Falls National Park. The journey is a magical adventure with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary route to track Rhinos. Your ranger guide will brief you after which you proceed to trek Rhinos in the sanctuary. After this fulfilling experience and photo session, we proceed to Murchison falls National Park arriving late evening. Check in, have dinner and Overnight at Paraa safari Lodge lodge. Day 3: Game drive in Murchison park & Boat Safari on the Nile

Murchison Falls National Park is the biggest National Park in Uganda and offers fulfilling game viewing. The game drives start early morning right after breakfast which increases the chances of sighting different animals especially the predators that tend to go into hiding during the heat of the day. The game drive happen in the northern bank of River Nile, where we look out for giraffes, elephants, hartebeest, Buffaloes, Leopards, Lions and different bird species. In the after-noon, the safari will continue on River Nile – Nile boat safari towards the mighty Murchison falls. The relaxed boat safari provides more opportunities for spotting a variety of animals and birds and falls from. You have an opportunity to watch the falls from below. Do the hike to the top of the falls and later return to the lodge for dinner and Overnight at Paraa safari lodge.  Meal plan – Breakfast, lunch & Dinner

Day 4: Murchison Falls – Kidepo Valley Park

After days of wonderful adventure with in Uganda’s largest national park, we head forward to the most attractive and most preserved national park with in the country. Lunch will be en route and later head on to the lodge for overnight and dinner B.L.D at Apoka Safari lodge

Day 5: Kidepo excursion

Take breakfast and go for a sunrise hiking through the Lamej Mountains and the splendid Kidepo river valley dominated by borassus palm forest, startling savanna landscape and the stunning view of the Narus valley situated in the southwest of the park. To the north of Sudan at the Lotukei Mountains and the Morungule range which marks the southern boundary of the park and ending the trail at the Kanangorok hot spring with a view of a number of faunas that can be seen wandering around like the tall Ostrich. Get back to the lodge for lunch and use the afternoon for a cultural experience that will get you in touch with the Karamajong people, Mix together and have a chat with the local elders and they will show you their animal kraals, the grinding stones and many more exciting items. Go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. B.L.D at Kidepo Savanah lodge

Day 6. : Kidepo Valley National Park

After breakfast, go for an early morning game drive and bird watching having a chance to see some of the rear bird and animal species like the cheetah and hunting dog, bat-eared fox and stripped hyena. The less common ungulates include klipspringer, dikdik and bride gazelle. Other large ungulates include zebras, Rothschild’s giraffes; antelope species you could encounter include roan antelope, bush buck, eland, and bohor reed buck and Jackson hartebees buffaloes, elands, bushbucks, waterbucks, elephants and the jackal, among many others. Birds like the Karamoja apalis and the black breasted barbets, black-headed plover, black-bellied bustard, common buttonquail and flappet larks, harriers, red-winged lark, northern red bishops and white-winged widowbird among others. Have packed lunch whilst on the drive. Drive and head for a over Night at the Kidepo Savanah Lodge. B.L.D

Day 7: Kidepo Valley – Mt. Moroto lodge

After the morning breakfast we embark at saying bye bye to this beautiful park of Kidepo. As we embark on the journey. Have some break at the Mt. Moroto lodge thereby cutting the journey short. B.L.D

Day 8: Moroto -Sipi falls (Sipi river lodge)

After morning breakfast, check out of the lodge as we embark on the journey to discover Sipi area. Arrive in time for Lunch, after which we shall check in and relax. Dinner and overnight at Sipi river Logde. B.L.D

Day 9: Sipi falls.

Whilist at sipi, carry out walks on a network of well-maintained local trails with beautiful scenery in every direction. The most popular walk is to the bottom of the falls – during rainy season it’s an awe-inspiring sight. It’s a steep climb down through villages and crops, and a sweaty, exhausting climb back up. A cave behind the easy-to-reach second falls is really worth the climb. On a clear day you can see much of Uganda from the ridge at the top.  Lunch, and then do the coffee tours. Dinner and overnight at Sipi river lodge. B.L.D

Day 10: Sipi falls – Jinja

Have morning breakfast and check out of the lodge as we embark to the journey to Jinja. Arrive in time for lunch at Haven lodge. Relax as we prepare for the next day events full of adventure. B.L.D

Day 11: Jinja Adventure at the source of the Nile

Have breakfast and do a luxury boat cruise on the Nile. Other activities like Rafting, bungee jumping, horse riding, quad biking are optional. Lunch Dinner and overnight at Haven lodge. B.L.D

Day 12: Jinja to Entebbe

After a morning breakfast, check out and we take you through our last drive from Jinja back to Entebbe airport as you say bye bye to this beautiful pearl of Africa. B and L.
