Starting off with a primate tour in Kibale before heading out to the famous Queen Elizabeth park for more wildlife viewing. Day 1: Arrive in Entebbe, Uganda

On your arrival, the Great Trekkers Safaris company representative will welcome you to Uganda at Entebbe airport and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe. Your tour guide will give you an insight of what to expect on this adventure. Dinner and overnight stay at Victoria Hotel.

Day 2: Entebbe – Kibale Forest National Park

We depart for Fort Portal after an early breakfast. This journey will be rewarded with a photo experience at the Uganda Equator with stunning views and scenery as we drive through the western side of the country. Have a stopover in Mbarara where you get to visit Rwenjeru community, enjoy a cow watering experience, meet the local people of this pastoral community before we drive directly to Kibale National Park.  Arrive later in evening have Dinner and Overnight stay at Crater Safari lodge.

Day 3: Chimpanzee habituation experience in Kibale forest National Park

Today the forest opens its doors for a sensational chimpanzee habituation experience. An early breakfast – and it is time for your chimpanzee habituation experience.  You will participate in an orientation briefing by the park ranger guide before you start your trek to the deep forest to meet the chimpanzee group which is being habituated.  You will be with researchers, trackers, and others that are part of the habituation Process making chimpanzees feel comfortable with humans near them. This process takes two years or longer and today you are part of that process. You will get the opportunity to spend the entire day observing their habits and ways of living.   The chimpanzees will not be the only primates or wildlife that you will spot, but this is home to 12 other primates, the 350 plus species of birds, 200 plus primates and mammals that are found  in the park. You will need a day-pack, poncho or rain jacket, long trousers, long-sleeved shirt, hat, boots, packed lunch, 2 liters of water, packed lunch and some snacks before we return late in the evening in time for your Dinner and Overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today after breakfast, our wildlife tour continues to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy views of several crater lakes and the mystical Rwenzori Mountain ranges. Arrival at your lodge, have lunch and spend the rest of this afternoon enjoying the scenic views of this park. In the evening we talk a guided community walk to the twin carter lakes. Return in time for Dinner and Overnight at Park View Safari lodge.

Day 5: Game & Boat- Queen Elizabeth national park

We will wake up for an early morning game drive with an informative ranger guide who will help you search and point out wild animals as he/she leads you to the various habitats of the game.  Lunch at the Lodge and later in the afternoon take a boat-ride on Kazinga Channel to see birds, semi- and aquatic animals that rely on the channel for their livelihood. Dinner and Overnight at Park View Safari.

Day 6: Game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park and transfer to Ishasha sector

The animals in their different families, clans, and groups are out starting on their day. Watch the animals in their natural habitat and notice the difference with those caged in zoos. You will do this mostly from the Kasenyi plains where there is the large Kob mating ground. Look out for Elephants, Lions, Leopard, Waterbucks, Buffaloes, and several colorful birds. After this experience, we drive to watch them and proceed to Ishasha, famed for the tree climbing lions. It is not easy to sight these but we shall mount a search with the help of rangers. Lunch will be a picnic or at the lodge.

Day 7:  Expedition to the Gorillas in Bwindi Forest

Today we start journey to the home of the gentle giants of Bwindi – Mountain gorillas. The journey takes us through the terraced hills of Kigezi highlands. Lunch will be along the way or at the lodge depending on time of arrival. Take your well-deserved rest at your hotel in the lodge.

Day 8: Mountain Gorilla trekking

Mountain gorillas are true gentle giants found in Bwindi impenetrable forest and Mgahinga gorilla national park Uganda. Bwindi impenetrable forest is abounding with life hosting species of birds, butterflies, primates, mammals, and trees. Your ranger guide will guide you to in conjunction with early trackers to the enormous and rare mountain gorillas deep in the jungles of Bwindi. The trekking experience takes anything from one hour (rarely) to about 8 hours to accomplish, you only have one hour with gorillas to capture your finest moment. Later in the evening you will prepare for a community village walk to the Batwa communities for a cultural experience. You will have a chance to visit these communities see their way of life before we head back to the lodge for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 9: Bwindi to Entebbe Airport

Have morning breakfast, checkout of lodge and you begin the road drive to Entebbe passing through Mbarara with a stopover en route for a hot lunch. Depending on your flight schedule, our driver guide will drive you through Kampala city before you head to the. Exchange of hugs and have a safe flight back home.
